JUST SAW WARRIOR WITH MY DAD.
But really. It was fantastic. The acting, the story, the fight scenes, the SOUNDTRACK, everything. Oh my gosh.
Tom Hardy was RIDICULOUSLY GOOD and Nick Nolte was BRILLIANT and Joel Edgerton was good, don't get me wrong, but I was so blown away by the former two that while I recognize he was definitely really really good, he didn't blow me away or anything. Particularly in his few scenes with Tom? I mean - come on. Tom is so fucking talented and so fucking THERE and his presence is so STRONG and yet you just want to crumple up and cry for him ALL THE TIME even though he's kind of a d-bag (but a TORTURED d-bag. He has ISSUES and they are LEGIT ISSUES and UGH I JUST WANTED TO SOB - well, I did, but that's beside the point).
So, yes, basically I was drooling over Tom the entire time, but it was STILL SO GOOD.
There's one scene where Tommy (Tom Hardy) walks out of his room to find his dad (a former alcoholic) drunk off his ASS and listening to the audiobook of Moby Dick and screaming about how they should turn the ship around, or something. And he gets all up in Tommy's face and screams "TURN THE SHIP AROUND!" or something and it is INTENSE AS FUCK because he and Tommy are estranged sort of except he is totally training him and just a few hours ago Tommy basically told him to fuck off and that he doesn't need him and all that, and then his dad starts wandering around, talking about how lost they all are, so Tommy follows him and hugs him and pushes his hair back and tells him it's okay and helps him into bed and takes the bottle away and his headphones off and climbs into the bed and pulls him up so that his dad's head is resting on his chest and he just sort of pets him and says SHHH and it was BREATHTAKING to watch.
Honestly.
Breathtaking.
As were the fight scenes. Holy god. They were so intense. I was FREAKING OUT. My dad and I sometimes watch MMA together on TV and I was just like SCREAMING tbqh because it was so loud and big and THERE and ow ow ow I don't understand how people can do that in real life.
So go see it, seriously. IT IS SO GOOD. But not if you have a thing about blood because there's a lot of it (obviously) but if you like Tom Hardy or anyone else in it or if you look good movies with family drama or if you like MMA or just whatever, go see it.

I leave for Wales in exactly one week and I have so much shit to do and tbh I don't wanna go. I'd rather visit Julia in Boston and then head back up to St. Mike's for the duration of the semester.
K THANKS.
