For the last three or four weeks I've been feeling very positive and upbeat, with no real reason for it. For the last few days to a week, I've noticed it start to change into a slide into depression. Again, I don't see any real reason for it.

You used to be quite regular in blogging about your sleep patterns, etc. As you haven't done that in a long time, is it possible that there are changes and possible triggers but, because you're not writing about them at the time, you can't detect a pattern?

Well, right now, despite all efforts to change it, I am consistently falling asleep at 7:00 am and waking up at 2 or 3 in the afternoon. This has been going on for weeks, so there's no obvious change there.

I am thinking that the lack of even small amounts of sun could be causing Seasonal Affective Disorder though.

Well, after I learned how bad my insomnia could be simply because there wasn't enough light reaching the retina (hello, one fully blind eye), I got a special lamp (free luckily via Air Miles) to help. Mind you, that was specifically for insomnia. There are other full-spectrum lamps (bulbs) designed to counteract stupid low northern latitudinal sun strength.
