Why is it that whenever something disasterous happens everyone jumps on the "ill pray for you" wagon? How many of those who utter this comment, of which to me would be insulting as hell, actually get on their knees and do this? Im betting not many. so if not many do it, why say it? I'm not really a prayer or energy work person. Well, sort of, but not really. I don't pray, per se. I hope. I don't work magick per se, I try to work towards something, and hope the efforts lead to where I want them to. Sort of a mixture. I wouldn't quite call what I do prayer, but I wouldn't call it magick or energy work either.

I think for most people it's trying to give some sort of comfort because they can't really do anything tangible about it.
