What do you think of the smoking ban for bars?

    Next year Oregon will ban smoking in bars, restaurants and other establishments.

Do you like the idea? Is the injury caused by smoking so overwhelming that such steps should be welcome? Or is it government

Ireland banned smoking in public in March 2004, and it was the best thing we ever did. I admit that I'm an ex-smoker, but pubs and bars are so much better to go to when there's nobody nearby exhaling poison into the air. The places are fresher, and the usual stink that's imbedded into the upholstery is non-existent. Smokers who want to enjoy their cigarettes must now go outside into the beer garden, or out onto the street to light up. It took a while to get used to it, but it's well worth it.
