Title: "Worth It"
Pairing: Thorpe/Peirsol
Rating: NC-17
Disclaimer: Don't know, don't own, not making any money, etc.
Author's notes: Written for captain_molly, who wanted Ian Thorpe/Aaron Peirsol and angst or PWP, and didn't want to see drug use (other than alcohol) or Pieter. My prompts were decks and fishing.

Mmmm, very nice. Nice parallels drawn between fishing - the baiting and waiting and reeling in. I liked most of all that Ian trying to be someone else was hurting Aaron, but in the whole 'revelatory' scene there's the suggestion that it's hurting Ian equally. And I liked Aaron's resentment too, a catalyst for finally just asking.

I quite liked it. :>

Oh, wow. I like this so much. So very, very much. You really nail the difference between Ian denying who he is in public and who he is in private - and how much more damage the latter can do than the former. Learning so much about Ian from Aaron's observations is great, because it keeps us, like Aaron, on the outside. Just a fantastic story, sorry I can't be more coherent about it.

That was an important part of the story for me - the fact that Aaron thinks that he doesn't care what Ian says or does, but in the end realizes that he's been hurt by the situation. Glad that came through.

Thank you so much for the feedback :)

That was quite interesting, and as someone I think mentioned above ( ... )

*beams*

I'm flattered that you read this. But then again, you are slowly getting sucked into the swimslash fandom, aren't you? Aren't you? Next I have to convince you that watching/slashing basketball is a good idea...

Um...anyway.

Now is Ian aware that he's sending all these body language type signals?

Oh, I'm sure he's aware; I think it's hard to blatantly ignore someone after sex without knowing what you're doing. At the same time, I don't think he realizes to what extent his behavior is affecting Aaron. Although even Aaron doesn't realize it himself until later on.

And lol...I'd always wondered what your real name was...

Thanks again for taking the time to read and comment :)

Also roasted peppers - aussies are weird we call 'em capsicums for some bizarre reason.

if that was from ian's POV but i can't find it now...

Good to know. Yes, that is a bizarre name, but I can see the rationale behind it. That bit was narrative from Aaron's POV, though, so he wouldn't have called them anything besides roasted peppers.

How was Ian, btw? Was he Australian enough, or did he come across as totally American?
