Duel in the Pool: Winner takes all
The men’s 400m freestyle has the potential to be one of the most exciting races at the Mutual of Omaha Duel in the Pool. Six-time Olympic gold medalist Michael Phelps has added the 400 to his repertoire and will be swimming the event in July at the 2005 World Championships in Montreal. If he should swim the 400 at the Mutual of Omaha Duel in the Pool, he’ll likely be facing Grant Hackett, the second-fastest swimmer of all time in that event. http://www.duelinthepool.com/Match_PhelpsvHackett.htm
The final race on the last day was simple: Michael Phelps versus Grant Hackett. Both men were the current reigning rulers of the pool from their respective countries. They would swim the 400m to see once and for all who was “King of the Pool.”
Hackett and Phelps suited up in the locker room. They passed close by each other through the narrow doorway. Hackett wouldn’t move and Phelps wouldn’t budge.
Chest to chest and nose to nose, they stared each other down for several minutes before Grant ultimately broke the silence. “This one is winner takes all, Phelps.” Hackett growled.
“It’s too late, Hackey... the U.S. already won,” replied Phelps as cocky as ever.
Grant smirked slyly. “I’m talking about us, Phelps…if I win, I’m going to fuck you anyway I want…for as long as I want.” Hackett’s voice was deep and raspy. He flashed a mischievous smile while still pressed against the American.
Michael groaned in Grant’s mouth then added his conditions. “It’s home pool advantage…if I win I’m going to fuck you anyway I want for days…” Phelps grunted lustfully. “…then Peirsol and Hansen are going to have a piece of you, too.”
“Winner takes all…” they agreed in unison as they stepped back with wicked grins and headed to the pool deck.
