Megz showed me this today during 5th/6th hour... I guess Mike handed them out at the banquet and this really fits a swimmer.

They Stand Alone
What sport makes the demands on the individual that swimming does? When a swimmer gets up on the starting block he/she stands alone. No one will run interference; no one will go back and make a catch on the warning track if he/she makes a bad pitch. He/she stands alone.
In other sports where the score is kept on the contestant's ability to over come an opponent in a hand-to-hand contest. There is the possibility of a substitution; In swimming there will be no time outs & no second chance. All can be lost in a hundredthe of a second.
Yes the swimmer stands alone. There is no place for the weak hearted on the swim team. When the event starts, a swimmer puts his/her ability on the line along with their determination and courage. We who are close to the swimmers on our team have elation to heartbreak.
We have seen parents and coaches with tears running down their cheeks as they try to console a young swimmer who has given all.... yet lost.
Swimming is tough, and has like life, a feeling for survival of the fittest. The young men and women who entered and stayed with the team know this. They also know this. They also know that when they time comes and the gun sounds....
THEY STAND ALONE :)

yea i like it :P
