Bah, I'm in an incredibly bad mood. This mood is caused when the separate pieces of my life which usually fit together decently well and coexist in a manner that I can easily live with just don't. When times like these happen, it just seems that nothing is meant to be, like I am doing something or everything entirely wrong.

The reasons for my bad ( Read more... )

Man, that totally sucks! (Erm, personal advice--skip chapel. Hide in the Den, get sick, whatever. Or nap. I disagree with pretty much everything ever said in chapel, except I think someone once said "Killing people is bad.") That's really not fair that they're scheduling everything on all your religious holidays. Why are they doing all of this? It's insane, and terribly unfair to all of you.

And just so you know--the school's insanely discriminatory to other groups of people, too. Like non-heterosexuals. Not bitter, not bitter...

Yeah, it does suck. I should be used to it now, but I'm not. Our Williamsburg trip was scheduled over Rosh Hashanah in 8th grade, I got a detention for missing school because of my Bat Mitzvah in 7th, I've gotten in trouble countless times for not getting all my homework done on nights that I have the Jewish holidays, tests and such are always on Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur... the list goes on and on. The school just doesn't care about us and our Judaism unless it is on their terms whenever they want it, like Religious Diversity Week.

As much as I would love to skip chapel, I am a coward. Dr. Williams now knows that I am supposed to be in the side chapel, so I am afraid I'll get caught if I skip.

And yes, the school is insanely discriminatory to other groups too as I have witnessed first hand. Non-heterosexuals and Jews are only two of the many groups. If you do not fit that stupid cookie-cutter mold of what an St. Mary's girl is supposed to be, you are generally put down and discriminated against. *sigh*

Meh, I know the feeling. I'm a Muslim, so stuff's happened - I had to skip Eid one year because of the 8th grade field trip. ._. (Oh, and did I mention that my cousin got engaged that very same weekend?) It was annoying as heck, and I swear that I walked at least 26 miles...

However, I haven't noticed anything else on my end of the spectrum yet. o_o It sucks insanely that all this gets to happen on your religious holiday, but don't the teachers assign the due dates and stuffs? I guess some of them wouldn't know or anything.

And it *really* doesn't help that Hajra and Saba follow the same religion, but our values seem to be so different that teachers don't seem to get that I like not being able to wear shorts - even on Derby Day. x__X

But I digress. If you ever need to talk to someone, please let me know, okay? I just feel bad that I don't get to talk to you enough. And during Ramadan, I'll probably be in the MSL less since I'm trying to avoid any place with food...

Ah, I'm Naziyya. Currently a freshman over at SMS, but I was an eighth-grader last year... think Aubree introduced us once or something. Don't think we know each other too well, but I remember seeing you around school and stuff. ♥
