I think I could totally make it as a housewife. Except I will never ever let my kids rooms get that dirty. There's still junk all over the floor, but I think I can get it all finished before Shabbat.
No...well, only slightly. Hey, if that's what you want to do, go right ahead. I was merely commenting on the consistency of your post with the practices of Orthodox Jews.
No, I mean being a housewife and rearing children. These days, that almost is exclusive to Orthodox (Jews, and other religions) and Amish (which I guess would fall uner Orthodox too).
I have to agree with Lila on this. My mom is a housewife and she rears me and she's not particularly jewish or religious. (Wow that was a run on sentance...that's what summer'll do to you.) So yeah.
Well yes, but you're also the only child she rears, as opposed to the many children that is the ideal for Orthodox families. You can't argue with that, Lila. All I'm saying is that from what I've learned and based on my relatives, Orthodox Jews tend to hold more traditional values of a wife's role, which is usually as a housewife. I'd say there are more Orthodox (any religion) families with wives that don't work and have lots of children than there are families like that which aren't Orthodox.
