An interesting day.

My day started with a strange email and a random phone call, and it's ended with a strange email and a random phone conversation.  The phone rang early, while I was still in bed, so I waited till it went to voicemail.  It turned out to be another staffing agency that's been sitting on my resume since November, that has an executive assistant ( Read more... )

Sounds like a bootie call... wait until it is up front and straight forward. Have more respect for that Vanessa who would be tired. A job is Number One...

Good luck on the job front!!!

Thank you for the luck! I could really use it.

Instinct says that maybe I shouldn't go, because I don't want to have to rely on him to get me home. But the party-girl Vanessa wants to go, just because it sounds like fun. I think instinct will win out in this case, since I don't want to rely on the LIRR at 3am.

Do you even talk to the ex anymore? If not, it's really not your problem. You're not breaking up anything. If Friend wants to contact you and not tell the ex, that's his decision. Everybody's grown.

As far as the party, though, I don't think I'd go if I were in your position. Only because this would be the first time seeing him after a long while. A party after midnight is strange. I don't know if it's a bootycall per se, but it doesn't sound incredibly platonic, either. If you're cool with that, then, yay! It's really Friend who needs to worry about his friendship with Ex.

I don't really talk to the ex per se. I mean, sometimes I IM him to say hello and chat, or vice versa, but we're not really friends (and, in fact, he'll IM me to tell me he wants a piece, but it'll never happen). But you know, Friend found ME, so really, I'm just replying. Nothing wrong in that.

I'm SO not going to that party, if only because I'm tired. If he really wants to make nice and be friends, I'll see him another day.

I'm not sure that it's a booty call. But it certainly sounds like I'd end up at someone's mercy, and I don't roll like that!
