I Love it too. Watching in a very ATAS cinema in KL. And somewhat I am a bit reluctant for my mum to watch this movie. Worried that those scenes especially the ones in the caring home would have scare her off. What's your view?

well, hard to say... i suppose it depends on your mom/ the old folks' situations.

But i guess to a certain extent the old folks would worry and be anxious but not so much about the old folks home environment, but rather whether they would be a burden to their children/ loved ones if one day they really become sick or weak and physically handicapped.. something even we ourselves have to face/ fear one day too.. ANd maybe worse coz we have no children to depend on but the old folks home... :'(

the film reminded me of my grandma. especially when she worked as a mah-jie like 桃姐. i caught it in Mandarin with my mom and dad on the last day it was showing in Singapore, and i bought the DVD when i went to HK in June.

yes. a lot is lost in translation.

Yes.... as the poster caption says.. "Is there a taijie around u?" I think the movie really succeeds in touching everyone's heart and let us think about out elderly. ;)
