Blind Skywarp was fun, and different to write. Limiting what you can describe with is a pretty fun exercise.

Just as I'm starting to read this update and thinking "there's no way it can get any creepier, right?" you manage to not only surprise me, but make my jaw literally drop. And then I shuddered a lot. *STILL SHUDDERING*
Holy. Fucking. Shit. I honestly didn't see that coming. That Skyfire was legitimately ill was the only thing that didn't come as a surprise to me (I generally do love the idea that being in the ice for so long did damage him, giant alien robot or no) but to discover how not delusional he was this whole time? I repeat: holy shit.
fuckkkkkkk I can't get over it. He knew it was Skywarp the whole time. How desperately he clung to this thin fantasy, even going so far as to paint Skywarp and- kfjhgkjfhs I CAN'T GET OVER THAT HE PICKED SKYWARP SPECIFICALLY ( ... )

The frost damage thing just made sense to me- sure, TFs can go through some serious shit, but like anything else, only for so long. You wouldn't leave your computer in the cold for weeks- millenia in ice must have been absolute shit on poor Skyfire's head. All it would take would be one little trickle of water...
it's kind of heartbreaking that he lets Skyfire go and even instructs him to get help.
Starscream seemed so sad in the episode Skyfire pops up in, and its one of the few times he genuinely seems remorseful as a character. A lot of people use that in fics, and I figure its for good reason. Skyfire is a piece of his younger, happier days- a friend, and a vessel to the past. Seeing him now must be a bitter thing for him, but knowing why and how Skyfire got all fucked up would be a pretty heavy thing to deal with.

Like most commenters, Skyfire being aware the whole/most of the time that it was Skywarp took me totally by surprise, as did the fact that Skyfire had physical damage rather than mental illness.
Like ASHWM, this is one of those stories where you pretty much feel sorry for everyone by the end - Skyfire for harboring his delusions and then having them torn away, Starscream having to witness it and try to clean up after it, and of course Skywarp. I also feel bad for Skywarp being sworn to secrecy about such a traumatizing thing that happened to him - though he can talk to TC about it, I guess, and the Decepticons don't exactly have group therapy sessions where he can let it all out in a caring and supportive environment.

Well, brain damage is a physically caused mental illness, correct? Robot equivalent, I suppose. Well, no, but you get the idea.
I doubt Skywarp is going to go cry to anyone. That's not how big tough soldiers deal. He'll bitch loudly, and probably be very quiet when he's alone. TC will be there for him when he's ready.
Don't know how he'll deal with seeing Skyfire on the battle field though.

I don't see skyfire as creepy per-se, but pity him...
For some reason, I figured he was repainted, and also thought skyfire knew starscream wasn't his captive, but didn't expect him to have chosen him...
Well done, thanks to you, I can see a side of my TFA shockwave I'm creeped out by, and now wish someone would do a gigantic show accurate Skyfire too

I did find Skyfire was behaving creepily in this, mostly because he had it planned, but he was ill. Its still a disturbing idea, but it does take the blame from him a little- it was not something he would be okay with if he were in his right mind. He's just crushinly alone and does not want to be.
A gigantic show accurate Skyfire too
Wouldn't mind having one of those myself.

I always figured being in ice that long would screw up something inside of Skyfire. TFs are living things, and that was some extreme conditions. Extreme conditions, and for a long, long time. Made sense to me. And it gave some reason and motivation to the fic- prisoner taking doesn't seem like something he'd do on his own.
And strained interactions between he and Starscream is quite likely. Most will probably chalk that up to history, and Starscream will act like it's nothing more. Since he's home more, Ratchet will hopefully notice the frost damage on his own. I would hope- he'll be depressed anyway, that'll need checking out. And yes, I figure Starscream can be smarter than he's given credit for- anger is a good weapon, but only when you know how to use it.
For everything you said there, thank you. I appreciate analytic comments, they are my butter. :)
