I can't help but think of all the crap Ratbat would get up to if he had free access to the Autobot base and such. It's in canon (in the comics) that he was once a senator in the Council, and in the G1 comics, he was even leader of the Decepticons with Soundwave as a subordinate for a while. Many people who read those comics consider him the best Decepticon leader ever. (I never read them, so I am a bit skeptical)
So I am itching with curiosity as to what kind of chaos he would create when given such a golden opportunity.
Ratbat for this fic is indeed the one that was originally a Senator. While I do think him leading the Decepticons was a cool version of the character, I can't see that having happened to Senator Ratbat, who's spark was torn out so that he could be made Soundwave's.
So I am itching with curiosity as to what kind of chaos he would create when given such a golden opportunity... I can't help but think of all the crap Ratbat would get up to if he had free access to the Autobot base...
Oh he most definetly does not have free access, not if security has anything to say about it, or anyone on base who's ever dealt with Soundwave, or the old government of Cybertron, or its former wealthy.
Ratbat is actually pretty inclined to be co-operative after a few weeks. Its takes some time for the old bond to die as well as his allegiance, but when it does, he realizes he is no longer Soundwave's. And he wants his old body back.
Because the 'get him to lay their egg babies' made me laugh aloud in a way that bordered on unnatural.
Also, it sounds absolutely hilarious. I imagine Blurr would actually feel bad for Swoop at some point, as this is not really a DARK thing and more like a 'poor, delusional lonely guy, he's trying SO HARD' kind of thing.
I have the feeling many boxes of chocolates are involved, and the inevitable, "We can't/don't even EAT chocolate" response.

You're right in that it's not dark at all. Blurr isn't actually scared of Swoop for very long, though he remains wary and careful for the duration, due to Swoop's comparative size and strength. He learns the hard way that Swoop is not dumb. He does pity him sometimes, because Swoop clearly cares and really is trying so hard to do what the dinosaur part of his programming tells him is natural. That doesn't stop Blurr from becoming extremely exasperated though. He mostly thinks this shit is ridiculous.

To it he added the common generous chin found on most of his own gender group. He drew a slender femme beside it, with her face sporting the more feminine small chin.
