I have to admit, I read your summary and promptly rolled my eyes. Oh no, not another "Chad discovers he's gay through the power that is Ryan" fics. But...I thought I'd give it a chance, and so I settled in and started to read.
I'm happy to report that I was very pleasantly surprised. You took what's become a fandom cliche and created an amazing story around it. You captured all the awkwardness of being a teenager on top of discovering your own sexuality (your own identity) and growing into the person you'll be for the rest of your life through a lot trial and error and learning along the way. You showed that here through two wonderful characters.
The ending is lovely. I like that the path ahead isn't clear for Ryan and Chad, but that we do know they'll be traveling it together. It's hopeful, which I think is infinitely more satisfying than a "happily ever after." Thank you for that.

You took my least favorite fandom cliche (Chad realizing his gayness (or bisexuality) thanks to Ryan) and made it into something so realistic, something so touching, something absolutely worth reading!
All the lovely details, and the way you have characterized Chad, and the boys' relationship -- just amazing!
Oh gosh, that was so awesome. Very cleverly written, I loved all of it, from Zeke's stale cookies to Troy's being understanding to Chad's Ryan-related panic attacks. Like a lot of other people have said, it wasn't cliche and there WAS that realistic awkwardness and conflict, not just 'oh, I'm gay now, no questions asked' that you see in a lot of other fic. I really liked it, amazing job. :)

aww! so many feelings in that sentence. The whole fic was so charged and meaningful. I'm in complete agreement with erikssiren- favorite fic to date.
