Perhaps I'm not the first person to come up with this idea, but maybe at least it's an original point of view? Original way of telling the story? Ah hell, I'll just stick with "a way YOU haven't seen yet" and I'll be happy. argue amongst yourselves about who 'you' refers to.

Also, I hate to say it, sounds a lot like one of the subplots of Friday, by Robert Heinlein. It's certainly a different take, however, both deal with the rights of artificial intelligence and stuff.
(I wouldn't rain on your parade normally, but it's such a good read.)
