Here I was about to post about Radiohead and I came across this. So, I totally agree. Although I'm sure I haven't tried as hard as you. I was about to say something about OK Computer, or actually OK Computer reminded me about it...maybe I'll just continue this on my own journal. I'm safer there because Radiohead doesn't read mine.
with me, it's a total mood thing. i heard that album yesterday and i recall thinking it was a bit experimentally wanky, and certainly not thier strongest album. then someone threw it in today and i thought "hmm. whether you love or hate his vocal excentricities, you can't deny the solidness of the band or the interesting sounds and tones."
also, i recall thinking yesterday while i was listening that i hadn't heard anyone talk about them or thier most recent album for a while and that if i were to post on LJ that i might talk about that and the feelings i had yesterday about them.
also also, questioning one's own 'indie', especially in a public forum, negates said sense of indie. sadly enough, the same can not be said about jokingly questioning one's own sexuality in a public forum. but come on, ladies. colin farell? dreamy, right?
see, i disagree on the indie point. this is quite similar to the whole hipster thing(of which a.kleid has the better understanding) where you reduce something to kitsch value, thereby making it MORE hip/cool/indie/emo. therefore, sarcastically asking about my social status makes me even MORE indie, doesn't it?
bam! that brings my indie points to a total of 38.
you stuck it out...

You stuck it out longer than I did. They got too experimental for me after "The Bends". I did go to see them in concert when they came around last. I was impressed by the interesting noises and bleeps and bloops that they created but in the end nothing really moved me.
i agree with .. not you.sjorszaDecember 23 2003, 10:42:57 UTC
well, i went to the concert a few months back and, suprisingly, they hardly played any songs from Hail. as regards your entry: indie schmindy. radiohead rules all the time. ALL THE TIME DDAAMMIITT!!!
I wish I would have known that...fortytwoDecember 23 2003, 13:23:55 UTC
See, I KNEW I should've gone and seen them when they came to Houston last. Stupid money. Oh well. My theory is eventually they'll get tired of what they're doing and go back to the sweetest alternative rock (is that what the kids are calling it these days?) I've ever heard and I'll be first in line to buy the album.
