General

Character Name: Stefan von Basini
Species: Human
Extra-human/abnormal abilities, if any?: None to speak of.

Psychology

1. Is it okay for your character's thoughts to be read/their mind to be probed? Yes. There's not a huge wealth of deep thought in there, though.

2. Is it okay for any of your character’s intense/distressing memories to be seen/heard/read in this situation? Yes. He has processed them rather skewedly, but they are close to the surface.

3. What kind of mind does your character have? Are they disturbed at all? Are their thoughts ordered or jumbled? Dreamy, childlike, mostly running on emotions rather than Proper Masculine Logic. He is a little traumatized from the events at his school, but actual PTSD-like reactions have not yet arrived.

4. Is it okay for your character’s emotions to be sensed? Yes.

5. Does your character have a weak or strong mind? Are they susceptible to influence or hypnotism? Hahahahaha... yeeeah. He's pretty susceptible to influence, but his naive way of processing things makes him respond to the process differently. Invading his thoughts would be much more traumatic than a physical invasion, though, he has a tendency to take shelter inside his head. Adults will have a harder time influencing him than his peers.

6. Does your character have supernatural/mental fortification against mind-reading or telepathic communication? Not really, no.

7. In the case of characters who are extra-sentient/psychic and can just 'know' things about people, can the muns of these characters use the powers of Wikipedia to get information about your character? Hells to the yes. One note, though -- the Wikipedia article for Confusions subscribes to the interpretation that Basini's gay and that makes him complicit in his abuse because he must enjoy it and thus consent to it. Um, no thank you. Other than that, though, go for it.

8. If so, is there anything that should absolutely never ever be brought up? Things get freaky fast if you ask him what actually happened to him at his school. There's nothing I'd actually forbid as his writer, but directly questioning him about sexuality would not get a good answer.

9. Anything that should absolutely be brought up? ... naturally, the above means I kind of want that to get dragged up. But I wouldn't bring up Bozena, the village prostitute.

10. Will thoughts in the narration be up for grabs? If so, how will you indicate these? Italics/strikes/something else? Sure; I'll usually try to note them textually ("well, fuck," he thought) as well as with italics.

11. Does your character have any fears/phobias that you wouldn't mind being exploited? Ones that you'd like to NOT be exploited? Anything involving piercing with needles or similar instruments gets him retreating into his head again pdq. Any overt attempts at mindfuckery as well, and probably after some time in Mayfield, things that remind him of school, but those aren't phobias, those are triggers, and I'm not sure if I'd be comfortable having those exploited. If your character is exceptionally ruthless and would do such a thing, talk to me about it.

Physiology

1. Is it okay for your character to be affected by chemical agents? Fear toxins, for example? Yes.

2. Does your character have any unique biological difference that would affect their resistance to toxins/chemical substances? No.

3. Does your character have any notable genetic/supernatural/biological difference that would make their blood in any way different to a regular baseline human's (that would make them taste different if they were fed on by a vampire, for example)? Nope.

Physical

1. How okay are you with your character coming to physical harm? Depends on the harm. If it feels like LOL INJURY I'll have to think about it, but I like fucking around with him too much not to.

2. How okay are you with your character's home/possessions being targeted by bad guys? Go for it. Basini has a very small pool of special things, objects that are his, and even those he's not super-spiritually tied to.

3. Can your character be impacted by telekinesis? Yes.

4. With regard to vampires, would your character be willing to be a donor? Probably, but it would feel weird and sexual for the vampire in the equation. If that's how they roll, swell for both of them, but if it's not it might put them off their meal.

5. If no, then how about unwilling? If he isn't persuaded very nicely, he'll be fully unwilling, but OOC, I say sure, provided we talk first.

6. With regard to shapeshifters, are you okay with having those with this power taking the shape of your character? Sure, I suppose.

7. If your character has any superhuman abilities, would you be okay with these being replicated by those who have the power to absorb/take on the powers of others? Not applicable.

8. In a physical confrontation, is it okay if characters who have the power to sense/foresee/predict movements use this to their advantage against your character? Yes.

9. Are you willing to participate in plots where your character will sustain damage outside of a fight, such as in situations with torture, environmental hazards, or accidents? Yes.

10. Is there anything about them that would stand out noticeably (things like scars, physical augmentations, illness, anomalies, etc.) if they were ever injured or otherwise examined by a doctor? Are any of these things noticeable to others without close inspection?

Basini has a good assortment of physical marks and scars, all on the small side but rather prolific. If you really scrutinized them, they would suggest some kind of highly calculated physical abuse; they include cigarette burns in significant degree. But he's used to the more temporary marks of a beating, which presumably won't factor in Mayfield. Two of the burn scars are on the back of his left hand. Those are noticeable, but the others aren't anywhere anyone would see fully dressed.

Magics

1. Can your character be influenced and tempted by magical or supernatural means? Yes. He's probably quite easy to tempt.

2. If yes, will someone with the ability be able to find this out about them, and in what areas (think the seven deadly sins) can your character be tempted? Probably envy, in terms of the seven deadly sins. He want what other people have. But general self-preservation/cowardice is a big fucking button for him too, and plain old wild-eyed fear works just fine.

3. Could your character be glamoured (a form of mind control employed by vampires to make humans compliant/alter their memories etc.)? ... you could glamor this boy with a laser pointer and a beer can. He's kind of easy.

4. Can your character be effected by spells of any kind, and are there any specific types to which they would be immune? No immunity to anything. Plain ol' human.

5. Can your character's presence be sensed by characters with the power to read auras/pick up generalized vibes from people? No.

6. If yes, what kind of stand-out things about your character can be sensed? N/a

7. With regard to characters that can sense danger/receive visions/predict general doom, are you okay with your character being the subject of any of this, if the occasion arises? Yes, but I'd like a word about it first. He's kind of a cloud of doom period, though.

Privacy

1. Will your character change their name as it is shown on the map? If so, what will they change it to? No.

2. If they’re able, will they ever opt to hide their location on the map? No.

3. If your character is from an earlier point in their canon than another member of your cast, what is and is not okay for your fellow castmate to spill the beans about regarding your character’s future? Pretty much anything would be fine.

4. With regard to characters that like to snoop, can they find anything that's been publicly said by your character through the tablets? Yes.

5. How about privately? Sure.

6. Is there anything you'd especially like to be known about your character, for the purposes of amusement? ... the only thing particularly funny about Basini was the whole Garter Incident, so if that gets out through conversation and shoots around a bit, I'm fine with it.

7. Anything you especially don't? Unless your character's sense of humor is grim as fuck, or they seriously don't realize what they're saying, or they are outright evil, his sexual history isn't something that should get around.

8 Do you like threadhopping (a character not already in a thread jumping in unexpectedly to reply to a comment), and are you okay with other people threadhopping in your threads and posts? The more, the merrier! If I specifically do not want threadhopping interrupting an uber-dramatic moment or something, I'll specify so.

permissions, gettin' started, mayfield, basini
