Oh no. I phrased that wrongly. You are free to loot everyone or everything there with the exception of locked boxes and triggered rooms that can possibly kill you. But if you think about it...

'Did I just loot a corpse (or someone I just recently killed) for credits and items?'

then apply that to real life.

In other games I'd be thinking looting is alright. You're on a quest to save the world! Why would they block you from that item!? (that woman in Coriander comes to mind) but in this I would be thinking of how much evil I've become forcing people to bend to my will before I kill them and loot their corpses.
