I was actually rereading that book before I left (skimming thorugh it because the book I was reading was actually a bore) and I realized that I like it a whole lot more than I give it credit for. I think I like it better than Neverwhere, but Nverwhere is on my favorites because it's the first Neil Gaiman book that I read.

I like it better than Neverwhere, too, although not a significant amount. Whenever I need to reassure myself that there is still wonderful literature out there, I read the first two paragraphs of American Gods. Ah...love it.
