One of the worst things about..

having Lupus and Fibromyalgia (or other autoimmune diseases) is the social aspect. It's extremely difficult to make and keep friends when you're ill. People are too busy and too wrapped up in their own stuff (not that that's a bad thing.) to care about what you're dealing with all the time. There's only so much they can feel for me. It just gets so hard to continually watch everybody go out and have a good time, and I (usually) have to stay home in bed watching Court TV and trying to find something to do. Haha. :)

All I can say is that I'm extremely thankful for the internet. I may have gotten to the point that I have to be a hermit most of the time, but at least I can still get /some/ interaction with people I don't live with!

The internet has helped me find people who I can relate to. I haven't been able to do that without working or going to school. :D

I can empathize. People do not get the social impact of being ill unless they have been there.
