In the book Catch-22 by Joseph Heller there is a character named Dunbar who wants to extend his life. He realizes that time seems to fly when he is having fun, and that it drags miserably when he is bored. He theorizes that if he lives his life only doing the most boring or unpleasant tasks he can think of, his life will be - subjectively, at least - very, very long. So, throughout the book, Dunbar only does boring or unpleasant things.

Yep. I hate my job, so while I'm there, the day drags on and on, but then, when I look back over my week, it seems to have flown by.

I really don't think that's a good plan. At best, I think I can practice mindfulness and attempt to savor every moment in some way, whether it's the texture of my shirt, or the sun in the sky. I will try to find some pleasure in everything. That way, even though life speeds by, I can't say that I haven't experienced it.
