Boyfriend: I just confronted our basement neighbor about being a graffiti artist, and she admitted that she was. I don't know how I feel about this.
Me: Well, it's better than the last one, she's not a prostitute*.
Boyfriend: ... true.
Me: I do miss when it was only disgruntled broke undergrads that lived in our basement.

SPN!!!!! I really liked the last episodes, though as usual they have made for quite the cliffhanger that I can think about until October!!

I'd heard some grumblings about the last episode, but I really, really liked the plotting. I don't know how I feel about the episode itself, but I really liked the outcome and am excited about what happens next. Which, actually, is the opposite reaction that I've had for most of season seven: where I really liked or disliked the episode, but didn't really feel any suspense about what the characters are going to do next.
ALSO CAAAAASSSS

I really like it too, and omg, I want Purgatory so bad! I hope they don't whisk them out immediately like the two trips to Hell...
CAAAASSSSS. ♥ I feel very cheated out of the scene where he was naked except for bees though.

Also, maybe there will be a flashback?

What do you think of Game of Thrones this season (so far)?

I'm still on episode six, but I've been really liking it. At times, it seems a little choppy, but I'm incredibly impressed by the acting, and the changes they've brought about (Arya being Tywin's cupbearer, for instance), have been really effective.
I think there's less sexposition this season, too, which I'm happy about.
I've heard really good things about Blackwater, too, without too many spoilers. So I really need to watch the rest of the series.
PS: Have you watched these?

When I moved to the west suburbs, it was like moving to a different country. I feel you (and sort of envy you), bb.

Some changes, yes, have been awesome. I'm enjoying the Arya-Tywin stuff, although I'm sort of weirded out by the fact that Tywin, for all his cleverness, hasn't put two-and-two together and sussed Arya out.
Other changes make me want to scream and run, tbh. Like, omg, WTF is up with the whole Robb Stark/not-Jeyne thing?
But overall, Tyrion, Jaime and Cersei have all been nothing short of awesomesauce this season. The Lannisters win at television, lol.
Blackwater was amazing. Get all caught up so we can throw down properly about it!

With Tywin: I really wished they'd mentioned a false Arya or something, so that Tywin has reason to think that Arya is somewhere else. And my fanwank is that Tywin realizes he's got someone here, but doesn't realize exactly who she is-so he's keeping her in arm's reach until he figures it out. Also, I like the idea that Tywin is legitimately impressed with Arya.
I'll do my best to catch up! I've got to clean my apartment for showing this weekend, and then am out of town next weekend, so who knows when all of this will happen. But I've been enjoying it so far!

I… I… am stunned by the basement crowd. O__o
MEGA-GL with the move, bb. ♥

The prostitute was actually rather nice and friendly. If it hadn't been her conducting business in the home, I'd have been sorry to see her go. But... uh, strange men coming through at all hours of the night and being really frightened when we happened upon them and asked who they were? Um.
Speaking of which: it also made it really awkward to do laundry at night. I'm just trying to get my work clothes and underwear washed for work tomorrow, in my birkenstocks, threadbare t-shirt, and pyjama pants, half awake, and I'm confronted with a john fleeing from the scene.
It's a really, really shitty illegal apartment, so.
Thanks! We might already have a place in mind, and are looking at another one on Tuesday. It'll be the first of August, right before I have to go to (yet another) wedding, so hopefully it won't be insufferable out!

YEAH. YEAH, THE STRANGE MEN WANDERING THE HOUSE AT ALL HOURS WHILE YOU'RE TRYING TO GO ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS. THAT WAS THE PART OF THE THOUGHT PROCESS WHERE I WAS LIKE, "UHHHHH." o___o
Whewf, summer + busy is always a bit of a risky combination. Hoping for the best! ♥

And yeah, I can see how the hype might be too much. I think part of it is that people have been waiting for this for years, so it not being a letdown meant that it was even better. I mean, it's a good movie. I really liked it, and would watch it again. It was well executed, but I don't see it really changing the face of superhero movies forever.
I did enjoy the sort of swapped gender roles for Hawkeye/Black Widow, where Hawkeye was the one who needed to be saved. And I enjoyed Hawkeye as villain, because he just knew what he needed to do and just got that shit done. No monologing from him. I also really enjoyed that nobody from SHIELD hesitated in taking him down: because they wouldn't bother hand-wringing about that, no matter how much they owed or liked the guy. But as a hero, yeah, he really didn't have that much to do ( ... )
