Tanning Lotion...Do you need it?

Is it absolutely necessary to apply tanning lotion before tanning?
I'm kind of broke now, and my lotion just ran out, and I really don't have the funds right now to buy a lotion. I was wondering if it's alright to go tanning without any lotion on.

If you're just applying a basic lotion (no bronzer or tingle), it's usually just to keep your skin moisturized. I usually tan without accelerator first, and after I've worked my way up to a certain point, start using it to maximize my tan. You're fine tanning without the lotion, just make sure that you're moisturizing with a regular lotion afterwards! (Using a moisturizing body wash can be helpful, too.)

Yea, that's what I was thinking but just wanted to double check.
I probably won't tan as fast without the fancy lotions, oh well.

You probably won't, but that may be a little better for your skin in the long run. :-D
