This was a great imagining of this section of time. I liked how you set up their partnership, and incorporated the rest of Rikkai while keeping the focus on Niou and Yagyuu. Yukimura might have pushed them around, but it makes sense for the team and it seems to have worked for the pairing. I definitely felt awful for Yagyuu, though. At least he has Niou!

Aw, thank you! I think you found more coherence in this fic than I did. Yagyuu had some presence in the beginning, but suddenly, it was all Niou until the end. I guess it kind of mirrors how Yagyuu became less and less involved. I'm glad he has Niou! Niou will need that too after his match...
