It’s autumn already.
“Hey-hey, looks. It’s squirel boy.” some senior make fun of Chinen. “Why do you alone, huh? Poor squirel. He eat his bento alone.” Chinen still keep quiet. “Let me see it.” One of that senior take his bento and throw it. “Ops, we’re sorry, It’s fall to ground.” they smirked. “Ahhh, it’s not fun at all. Your bento has gone and it doesn’t bother you at all. You...”
“CHIIII.” someone call him.
“Ryuu-chan....” looks like Ryutaro come to him with Yamada.
“That brat. Tsck. Let’s go.” the senior immediately leave him after seeing Ryutaro dan Yamada come. Although they are senior, but they’re still afraid of Yamada through he’s only junior. No one can beat Yamada since he’s good on martial arts.
“Daijoubu?” Ryutaro asked that chibi after he reached Chinen.
“Un, daijoubu.” Chinen nodded and smiled to them.
“Then, let’s eat together, Chii.” said Ryutaro, he also looked at Yamada, “Let’s eat together, nii-chan.” looks like Yamada ignored Ryutaro. He still keep quiet.
“But, my bento....”
“I can share my bento with you.” Ryutaro said. “I don’t mind to share it with you.”
“Arigatou, Ryuu-chan.”
“Here you are.” Yamada give Chinen some of his snacks. “It will not enough for two of you.” he point to Ryutaro’s bento. Then he become quiet again.
“Arigatou ne, Ryo-chan.” Chinen smiled.
“Yasashii ne, nii-chan. But, I wonder, why are you so quiet, nii-chan?” Ryutaro asked him, then continue to eat his bento with Chinen, “Since I know you as my brother, you never talk much to me and you never take your bento from our mom, too. You always buy a bag of snacks for your lunch.” he talk again after eating his bento.
“You are not my brother, but my classmate. And, she’s not my real mother. It’s impossible such a jerk woman become my mom.” It make Ryutaro mad. He will beat his brother, but.....
“Sugeee..... You are so fast, Ryuu-chan.” Chinen interupted, stop their fight.
“Hontou???? Hehe, I always like this.” Ryutaro back to normal.
“I’m back to class.” Yamada said and stand up. He thinks it’s better back to class than join them on their conversation.
“Matte, Ryo-chan.” Chinen said. “This is for you.” Chinen give him a necklace with a big smile on him.
“What’s this?”
“You know it, deshou?”
“Of course I know, it’s necklace with ring on it, so?”
“It’s special you know. When you look closer to the ring, you’ll find out something.” Yamada curious and he look at the ring.
“Forever?” he asked Chinen with puzzling face.
“Yup. It’s interesting, deshou? I bought it yesterday when hang out with Ryuu-chan.”
“Ah ya, I almost forget it. You are koibito, now.” Yamada said to himself. No one consider it. It’s pain to know the truth, but Yamada can’t do anything through he also love Chinen. He has lost to his brother anyway.
“It’s three pairs, nii-chan. Me and Chii also wear it.” Ryutaro said and let his brother see it. “It’s writing ‘friends’ in my ring and ‘and ever’ in Chii.” Chinen smiled to Yamada, make him doki-doki and pain at the same time, he tried to hold it alone. “It’s Chii’s idea. He said we’ll belong together forever. Deshou ne, Chii?” Chinen nodded.
“I’m back to class” Yamada said and go away from them.
“Such a cold attitude from nii-chan, ne, Chii.” Yamada hold the necklace tightly when he heard that. Chinen just look at that figure go away from him. Then he looked back and talk to Ryutaro.
>>>>Three days later
“RYUUUU!!!!!” Yamada called his brother. At that time, Ryutaro was stabbed by thief when he help people who robbed. Yamada tried to call ambulance, he even shouted at phone. But it come late. “Ryu, hang on, we’ll reach hospital soon.”
“Nii-chan....” he called Yamada.
“Hang on, Ryuu. We’ll reach hospital soon.” tears come out from Yamada. He begin to cry when ambulance take Ryutaro to hospital. Yamada accompanied him.
Ryutaro become more and more limp. “Nii-chan....” he called Yamada again, but blood coming out from his mouth when he’s talking to Yamada. “Gomen-ne, nii-chan, I make you mad. I-only, want to....”
“I knew it.” Yamada interrupted. “Hang on, you shouldn’t speak too much. We’ll reach hospital soon and you will be ok.” Yamada said it while crying. He’s so anxious.
“Ahaha” Ryutaro force himself to laugh. “I...” he cough, “I’m glad you still care about me, egh” he tried breathing. “You... come to me... after... getting my call.” Ryutaro seemed pain, but he still keep smiling to his brother.
