rules of door opening

I'm walking to the dining hall. I'm probably about 15 seconds away from the entrance, so that's quite a bit of steps. Even so, a guy walking in notices me coming towards the door and holds it open. I'm all for courteous people, but, that put a lot of pressure on me to get to that door in a timely manner. How rude would it be if I slowly took my ( Read more... )

You really have gotten weird.

If someone holds the door for you while you're a bit away, generally it means they're okay with waiting while you walk towards them.

Whatever homo, I'm normal.

All I'm saying is, when people hold open doors I feel personally obligated to get there fast. This isn't a good thing when the door is far away. Me no likey.

That was really nice of whoever that was. I generally glance back and if there isn't someone with their arm out for the door, i keep going.
