I don't understand why I still want to have my father's approval for some things either...but I do. I mean, he was/is a raging asshole and completely absent father, but I still want his approval. I don't seek it out, but it would be nice. In any case, I am commenting to say I'm glad that you two had a civil convo and good luck with whatever you decide to do.
