I need to eat more

Yesterday I started to wonder why it's been so much easier for me to lose weight; even the 10 extra holiday lbs were gone by the first week of January. I decided to check on how many calories I burn if I wait tables for five hours at a fairly frenetic pace like I will tonight. Wha? You can lose more weight by eating "a little more junk and some extra carbs"? I thought "junk" food and "carbs" were supposed to be bad for weight loss.

I'm so confused about this stuff.

If you start burning that many calories without putting a lot back into it your body thinks it's starving so it starts to conserve those calories. To make it stop you have to eat more. Consider 4500 calories is two days worth of meals and it might make more sense.
