2nd Story [ Video ]

[ The screen fuzzes in and out from black and static a few times, rattling through the audio as though someone is shaking it.

And that someone finally appears on the display a moment later, dark hair rather unkempt and the young man's face generally looking worse for wear. He glares none-too-nicely at the screen. ]

Just what the hell is this place?

[Even if the answer is fairly obvious Eagle asks anyway. ]

Have you forgotten being in the City before?

[ He doesn't even realize his communicator is showing a video of him, but his eyes narrow when the stranger on the screen addresses him by name - as a few others have done.

But Fakir really doesn't want to believe this. None of it. ]

I've never been to this damn place before.

[ Fakir doesn't see what there is to smile about. His brows only crease further - though one raises at his name.

Eagle? He figures this must be someone Ahiru knows. ]

Hmph. My only interest is in getting out of this place.

[ And no way is he going to talk about home to strangers.

With a huff, he turns away. ]

Yes, he's pretty much lived with and grown up with walking and talking animal people. But this thing is... ]

[ He frowns at the voice coming out of the communicator. ]

Hmph. As if I valued a stranger's pointless comments.

[ And he's sticking tight to his denial. Having gone through what he did back home, he doesn't want to believe something similar is happening again in a new place or with a new Fate. ]

To be honest the facts are ridiculous.

But are they facts or simply things that other answers haven't yet been found to?

Do you mean to say that no one has ever left this place? I find that hard to believe.

[ After all, with all of these people calling him by name, he supposedly was here before. And yet just a week ago, he was back at home. ]

What's really going on is that you are yelling at a stupid box and demanding answers you've already received.

[ He almost snorts. ]

I don't believe there's simply one answer to everything that I should just 'accept'.

[ Because giving in to any Fate is just not acceptable. Not at home and not here. ]

If the rest of you are content to believe that you're stuck and there's nothing you can do about it, so be it.

...So I've been told.

[ And it's frustrating as all hell. With no recollections of being here before, accepting all of these claims that he has been here is accepting that someone or something got into his mind and changed things or erased them.

And he does not like that thought at all. ]

...Yet nothing is the least bit familiar.
