S'not like it's a bad thing just sittin' on the barrier like this, actually. I mean, it's a lot darker 'n all that but it's giving us time to tend to our own wounds while it does the same for itself.

The only thing I'm kinda worried about is uh... Well, we probably pissed him off big time, so... He might be meaner.

He can be as cruel as he cares to be. Unless he made himself that much stronger to match his temper, we need not fear for that reason.

[Not that he doesn't know there aren't other reasons to fear. But mentioning those would not go well with the spirit he's working toward.]

It was nothing, truly... What is most important is that everyone keep their spirits up, especially at times such as this. I only did what I thought would make it more simple.

Everybody here seems to be fairly strong ... this is me speaking from observation, though. I've really only been here for a few weeks.

Many people here are very strong, just as it seems. But with all this fear, words might help people believe in what we must do...

The fighting went as well as expected, then? I don't believe I have seen any movement from the creature for some time now.

[There's a most welcome face. His solemn expression melts into a smile.]

Well... It seems to have stopped.

[He sighs. He doesn't like the risk of it, and there's certainly a part of him that doesn't enjoy admitting how incomplete the matter is to her.]

We have yet to defeat it, but it will not be much longer.

[She nods to agree with him on both counts. To be honest, she'd hoped the beast had been stopped forever, with all the fighting going on. But that does not seem to be the case. At the very least though, he seems optimistic.]

I am glad to see that you are safe. Have you found a place to take shelter?

I have... What about you? Where have you gone?

[He clearly considers this to be an issue of much greater importance. He is optimistic, but remember what he has to lose puts him further on edge than he admittedly already had been, whatever his determination.]
