Room 506, Wednesday Afternoon

Mar 09, 2011 14:21

Dolf's classes had left him in a pretty good mood, which was a good thing; he'd been kind of mopey since the weekend, and it had been high time for him to get jolted out of it. As it turned out, Portalocity prices weren't that bad anyway. He'd just been focused on the whole 'plane' thing, and hadn't realised there were other alternatives ( Read more... )

"Birds. In slingshots." That was Cally in the doorway, arms folded and smile half quizzical, half amused.

"Of course it makes sense to be conflicted." Cally, in turn studied the top of his head, as if she could use her eyes to see into his mind, where telepathy failed. "It's a place and an experience that made you feel ... useful. People who needed help that you could give, and people you grew to care about -- yet being back with them would be away from your family and the world you grew up in."

Dolf gave that another little nod, and exhaled. She'd put it all nicely into words, and he had no idea what to say to add to it.

"But I didn't want to mope today," he opted for, finally. "What did you do today besides watch us throw birds?"

Of course she could put it into words; look where she was: away from her family and the world she grew up in.

Though not without reminders. "Discussed the possible applications of being able to control the very structure of matter with one's mind. Green pigs was a bit relaxing after that."

He laughed a little. "I'm glad we relaxed you," he said, seriously. Sort of.

"Well, the birds that exploded were a bit unnerving, but generally you're good at doing that." Relaxing her. Not exploding.

"Are you completely relaxed now?" he wondered, smiling at her. So, so smooth.

"Hmmm..." Cally lifted one arm to hold her hand in front of her face. It trembled slightly. (After a bit of concentration.)

"Perhaps not."

"That is very troubling," Dolf told her, seriously, reaching out to snag that hand in his, too. "We will work on that."

"Will this involve more pigs?" Cally asked, also very seriously. Really.

They could both be very serious together.

Or, as Dolf apparently seemed to be thinking, they could both be seriously kissing together, as he was shaking his head gently and then leaning in.

See? Good day.

//So, no pigs, then.//

Yes, she cheated, because she was a cheating cheater who cheats. While kissing.

Dolf thought no rather ineffectually in her general direction. He would have totally detached to tell her that, too, and maybe call her a cheating cheater that cheats,

But since that wasn't working, it was a lot easier to let go of one of her wrists and slide that arm around her waist, too, and try to deepen it a little. That was an answer too, right?

Sure it was. (Unless he was planning on turning into a pig, in which case this whole experience could get rather odd and not at all relaxing.)

With a hand free, it seemed only right for Cally to make use of it by sliding her arm around his neck and doing something very important with her fingers in his hair. She couldn't tell you why it was important, but it would undoubtedly save lives or promote galactic peace someday. Whatever.

Well, Dolf was more than willing to do his part for galactic peace, because it was peaceful and good and oh whatever who cared. You know, it would be more comfortable if they were horizontal. They were sitting on a bed and all.

And he'd get right on that once he had a moment to remember how, because kissing her again seemed far more important. And then maybe again. And then maybe trying an awkward little thing with her bottom lip and his mouth.

That was not precisely relaxing, but good job on encouraging less verticality, by way of Cally leaning rather far into it. Not crawling into his lap into it, but halfway there.
