Over the last couple weeks I've caught myself subtly feeling "okay" about things. I listen to NPR most of the day at work. I hear a lot of news and news analysis and discussion. That Jeopardy test was a bit tougher than I expected. I missed a bunch of literature questions for sure, and at least a couple others that I timed out on while brain-farting. Kinda fun though. I'll do it again next time, maybe not spend all the time beforehand playing video games.... :)

Am annoyed at the spectacular level of hippy-dippiness in my California Indians class, despite having entered into said class expecting some hippy-dippiness. Just not quite so much of it. Passed the motorcycle training class, despite having a crappy bike assigned to me. Now I can go to DMV, take the written test, and get my license - no DMV riding test! Suck it, DMV!

It is now about 0600 and I've been up for 15 or 20 minutes. In about 40 minutes, I'll be on my way to Mather for the first day of on-bike training for the safety class I'm taking with Rick and Mark. I am not fully awake yet.

Starting Monday though, I'll be just arriving at work about this time, so there's that to look forward to.

Watched the 1962 version of Mutiny on the Bounty, with Marlon Brando as Fletcher Christian. A really good film that didn't seem to last the three hours (minus 5 minutes for the Overture and another 5 for the Intermission...) it clocked in at. Just watched the 1956 original Invasion of the Body Snatchers. Pretty good flick, despite some glaring plot-holes. Recently watched 1953's Houdini - decent, despite getting his death wrong - and the 1937 Prisoner of Zenda, which was very good. Last night I read the first of three books my MIL gave me for Xmas: Sarah Vowell's Take the Cannoli. I lay down expecting to read a bit and fall asleep. I read the whole damn thing. The inefficiency of PE led to a small ear infection, which caused a huge and debilitating blow-up in an abscessed tooth. Fortunately I was able to bump up my pending dentist appointment by a day and get root-canaled. Still hurts, but much, much less.
