i do not ask that everyone in the world understand migraines - what they are, what triggers them (differs for each person), what they FEEL like, how debilitating they can be ( Read more... )

That is bullshite. My dad had migraines for years, and didn't believe me when I said I got them, just because my symtoms are different. Yeah, I think it's really normal for a 3rd grader to come home and want to be in a cold, dark and quiet place because of a 'headache'. And the people that have never experienced even a headache? They're the worst kind. I'd like to have a week, a month, a YEAR, without head pain. Not gonna happen. They just need to shut their yaps and give you the pity you deserve.

I hope yours goes away soon.

hehe. pity, i'd love sympathy/empathy even.

i have to say that angel is wonderful with me and my migraines. (except the whole less sex problem). he's so great and understanding, and he rarely gets headaches. but then again, he's been around me enough to kinda experience migraines, second hand. he's seen me sobbing because of the pain.

i wish everyone in the world got ONE migraine, at least. well, ONLY one migraine, hehehe, cause that means we'd only have one too!

Oh, that's so rotten. I completely feel for you. I have often said the, "as crappy as this is for you, I garuantee, 100% that it's even crappier for me" thing MANY a time! They might feel bad and even helpless that they can't "fix" you, and maybe have a REALLY shitty way of showing it, just like some doctors get fed up with us because they are frustrated that THEY can't fix us and it ends up feeling like THEY don't care about us. I AM NOT excusing your parents' behavior, however.

I'm really sorry.

thank you. i'm fairly certain it is how you say, they feel frustrated that they can't do anything about it and i'm not getting better, but they have an absolutely shitty way of showing it. my dad also has a guilt complex, and he lashes out cause he's angry at himself.

they talk to my sister about all of this, and just last week she told be about it. but she doesn't live at home and didn't realize they were being *quite* so shitty. i wonder if she said anything to them.

can i still your quote? it's much more eloquent than mine. "as crappy as this is for you, I garuantee, 100% that it's even crappier for me"
