call me fickle, call me what you will...

But on Monday I am enrolling at Carroll Community College and dropping my classes at Anne Arundel Community College for Fall 2004. This is what I've figured, I'll do this on a point by point basis, as that's how I think ( Read more... )

Sounds great!

I didn't take med. term, but everyone who did is glad they did.

I do have a brand-new, factory-sealed med.term. textbook with study tapes that I won that I need to sell. It's an older edition, though, I think. I can give you the ISBN in case, by some miracle it's the one you end up needing. I figure if I made it halfway through school without needing med. term. and surviving, I'm probably okay. (I'm not saying I don't KNOW medical terminology: I do!)

Yeah, it's kind of an extraneous class for me too. Not that I think I don't need it, but I think I'm pretty good at med terms too. I'll see next week what book I need and let you know. Thanks!!

Yeah. I'm sure you'll have NO problem with it!

It's not required for our program (as I sort of alluded to, you can't be in the ADN program without picking up medical terminology) but you have to have a certain number of electives, so everyone takes medical term. as one of theirs. Well, I had so many credits from UWEC that I didn't need to take any electives here, so I wasn't going to take any more classes than I needed to!

What med. term. does do that you don't focus on in your other classes so much is the ROOTS of words so you can take an unfamiliar term and sort of crack the code to figure out what it means.

Yeah, the course description talks about teaching greek and latin roots. Some of which I already know, but hey, why not? I wouldn't be taking it if I didn't need four classes this semester. I have enough elective credits too. This class will be fun, I love languages too (have been learning Spanish for 8 years or so).

Maybe I'll post fun medical terms in my journal for the whole semester, just to annoy my non-medicine-interested friends.

Hey miss suzy
It sounds like you have things coming together. That is good. It sounded like things weren't going well there for awhile, but now it sounds like they are straighting out. So get this, my 21st bday is on the 27th and you know most people would go out to bars and such, but me no i am going to be in michigan with the people i babysit. It just sounds like so much fun, NOT!!! But i guess i can celebrate my 21st anyday after the actual day, so it won't be that bad. Well hope to talk to you soon.
