Doesn't he realize all the frozen embryos that are destroyed every year when not used for in vitro fertilization? What's the point of destroying them if they could be put to good use?

even a better point, thank you. even if embryonic stem cell research was allowed only on embryos intended for IVF, i'd be happy. strikethat - happier, at least.

(although i still say that aborted fetuses should have their lives/deaths go toward giving life.)

Oh, I totally agree with you, too.

heh, i was screaming at the tv about this topic too. thats when ed had me turn off the debate. i was soooo angry. he just doesn't get it. he doesn't get anything. he's making empty promises and saying stupid shit. i don't know if i can deal with all the people who are going to vote for him. they are partially responsible (in my opinion) for the love of my life being shipped out. they're partially responsible for all the people who are dying every day as a result of bush's stupidity. ::rants and screams:: k, i'm done.

Let me preface what I'm going to say with this. I agree that the scientific research we could get from embryonic stem cell research would be enlightening and it's something we should be doing.

being athiest my counter point doesn't really bother me but there are some people who might see this point as valid. Is it possible women will start getting pregnant and theng getting abortions and then SELLING their aborted embriotic stem cells?

Now if there is a law/rule that all embryotic cells must be donated then the only counter argument I can think of is blow out of the water, but if they are being sold then, well sometimes people abuse oppertunities.

p.s. do you two still like me after I post this?

that is a valid point and a true concern. hopefully, that would never happen and there would be measures put in place to prevent such a thing.

it is a valid point - thus the idea of maybe only using embryos intended for IVF would be a good idea to prevent such a thing.

yes, i'll still talk to you, silly!
