Wow...just WOW. i am SO going to convention next year ^^;;
DAY 1:
on too early friday morning, maeve picked me up and we arrived at Van Nuys High School to catch the bus to Long Beach. Basically, i slept peacefully the entire way and woke up to find myself in front of the Convention center!
Long Beach, strangely, was completely deserted. We navigated our way to Rodeway Inn. I noticed that there were no, i repeat, no, fast food restaurants of any sort anywhere!! :O no mcdonalds nothing! garr The walk was a good 8 blocks of walking right there and got our rooms. The rooms weren't bad. We had two bedrooms with full sized beds in each and a claustrophobically small shower box. Then the adventures begin!
The Granada KC-ers, me, maeve, justina, vicky, gerard, jesse, don, darren, and andrew decided to do a bit of exploring of our own! We wanted to crash and get some lunch of course. The cute shopping center across the street from the Convention center was not open yet
it was sad. Sooo we lounged outside of CPK for about an hour until they finally let us in and ate lunch.
Afterwards, we walked to the pier and those shopping centers near there and took a bunch of pictures. If you ever go to Long Beach, i recommend visiting the hat store. They have the COOLEST things there!!
we returned to the convention center for dinner (psh, boxed sandwiches), general session, and caucus sessions. the general session was (generally) LONG, but there was plenty of spirit and spirit battles. then, our whole division dosed off...u can turn around and entire rows of people were sleeping!! i did not know that we would have to sit through SO MANY speeches. they had my full attention up til the last three. now i know what to do if i ever decide to be a candidate.
then i got restless and dehydrated xD

DAY 2::
we suited up and looked quite sharp if i may say so myself. black suits and green ties. we're awesome! more caucusing -_-;;

and then they got tired
then it was workshop time!! i went with maeve and melissa to:
1. the vp workshop...that wasn't very helpful
2. the ...er...andy workshop! haha. so fun
we had a filling lunch after that with the silver ware and all! good food
second general session was a little more interesting. they passed out awards and such.
then...more workshops! i went with don and kento this time because the delegates had to leave
3. the publicity workshop because kento wanted to see jonathon
and we were supposed to take a picture with jon to get maeve jealous, but he had to leave!!
4. some creative activities workshop. totally pointless <.<;;
^^ shh!! i didn't know what to do
and i am pretty proud of myself because i wrote 2-5. not 5-2
thenn we found jesse and them who, apparently, DITCHED to watch Sin City! :O BAD kids!! and walked the 8 blocks back to our hotel to freshen up and change attire. lucky me. i had the room to myself so i got a nice nap.
we walked back to the convention center all prettied up and ready for the governor's ball. dinner was a buffet...mexican food!! third general session was interesting. our division won many awards! congrats to van nuys and agoura hills!!
then...the moment you've all been waiting for, GOVERNOR'S BALL!! maeve was my buddy for the entire dance. the music was completely foreign to us, but i must say...the DJ rocked! together, maeve and i busted out our steller dance moves (yeah right, but we did dance!) and completed our "shopping list" of people to meet/take pictures with. here is what we accomplished:

you'll never believe this, but...maeve and i got hit on :O
some guy who, says justina, was the winner of the essay contest, danced right up to me and asked me if i wanted to dance with him. clearly, i was abandoned by maeve and don. they saw him coming and they ABANDONED ME. i politely said, no thanks..and ran away to yell at those two. that was scary.
soon after, some guy danced behind maeve and asked her if she wanted to dance with her. of course, she completely ignored his presence and he walked away. a couple minutes later...the same guy asks if i want to dance with him again. i shook my head and said, "no, still no" and hoped that was the last of him. thank goodness.
i am proud to say that i danced with my heels on. some girls danced barefoot. we got home late and slept late. some guys across the "inn" wanted us to party with them at 3AM. O.o;; and get drunk?! haha no way. i slept soundly.
DAY 3::
breakfast was utterly pathetic...i expected a buffet with bacon, eggs, waffles...the whole deal!! we got a boxed breakfast with a single muffin, a plastic capsule of fruit, and carton orange juice. >:T fourth general session was touching. hai vo's speech was so sad
in addition, D25 won the spirit award!!! 2-5! 2-5!!

andy!!! i'll miss your smile and spirit! congratulations on top 10 LTG award! you deserved it and best of luck in college!!
see the spirit award? it's glass...so it looks invisible, but it's there! we did it!! GO KOALASS!
back at the hotel, we grabbed two random guys and decided to take a picture with them. go figure x]
the bus ride home was WAY too short! i almost fell asleep when don snapped a picture of me!! :O they made it look as if someone was picking my nose!!! :O and i'm not posting that one! HAHAHAHA. i got paranoid
