according to urbandictionary:

The proper term for Eskimos, a people who live in arctic Canada, Alaska USA and Greenland. Closely related to the Aleut. Also Inuktitut, the language of the Inuit, which has a very complex agglutinative grammar that can express entire sentences in a single long word.

(Inuit is plural, Inuk is singular.)

dictionary dot com however says... A member of a group of Eskimoan peoples inhabiting the Arctic from northern Alaska eastward to eastern Greenland, particularly those of Canada.

i thought algonquin(sp) words were also like that
like 1 word is a whole sentace... Omg i downloaded a "learn ojibwe" cd, and is it just me or do indians always sound tired. If you listen to the cd they like say 3 words and then have to take a deep breath

Eskimo or Esquimau is a term used for a group of people who inhabit the circumpolar region (excluding circumpolar Scandinavia and all but the easternmost portions of Russia). There are two main groups of Eskimos: the Inuit of northern Alaska, Canada and Greenland and the Yupik of western Alaska and the Russian Far East (the latter group is known as Siberian Yupik or Yuit).
