One thing I didn’t mention in my last entry and then didn’t get to because of my hospital internment was my “discovery” of great spots on the train.  On Monday, on my way to clinic and once again on the way back I rode on the side of the train.  There are these locked doors to the engine room on some of the cars but they have bars on the side and a ( Read more... )

a night in the trauma unit goes by like the day, visitation-wise. every 2 or so hours the family gets 20 minutes to come and chill with their patients. it can be quite trying at times when we need them to clear out. while i'm not as familiar with typical conduct in units with actual individual hospital rooms, i did see a family member sleeping on a couch that pulls out into a bed, so i get the impression that the family can stay with the patient and there is less constant nurse care, although there is a nurses' station in each of these units.

I know you must be having a great time getting sick and going to the hospital, but seriously, you need to stop it.
