To those who are interested, we are putting together a memorial service for Rick in about 3 weeks. It will probably be held in Mullens, WV. There will be a memorial slideshow and an opportunity for people to say something about him. There is a way to get his account switched over to memorial status, but I'm not sure how to get proof of his passing....

I'm sure it will be possible to get a copy of his death certificate, but I haven't tried yet. That's probably what would be needed. Thanks for the tip.

Hi Dolores:

I did not know Rick outside of LiveJournal. That said, he must have been a very special person to rate such kindness in the wake of his passing. What you're doing to honor his memory is both thoughtful and terrific. Please let me know if I can help in any way.

Thank you, I'm not Dolores, but she is the one who did let me know about Rick's passing. If you have anything that should be added to his memorial slide show for the service, please let me know. It would be great if you could attend. Also, please help to get the word out to those who knew and loved him.

I was saddened to hear of Rick's passing. I never got the pleasure of meeting him in person, but spoke with him many times online. A card was dropped in the mail to his mother a couple days ago. He will be missed!
