Hey, thought I'd check in and let you know how things are going.
Don't worry about me. I made it through my monthly camping trip with no problem. I'm liking Wisconsin's national forests, even if the drive's a pain. Hard to find enough free space in Illinois where there aren't too many really big dogs.
You've probably heard some bad stories about Chicago and I want you to know I'm doing okay. I've met a nice girl, Mom. Promise I'm not being a jerk, so put the wooden spoon away, okay?
She's cute. You'll laugh, but she's a cop, so maybe you have to worry a little less about me if I have an in with the police. Just kidding. It's too soon to be serious anyway, but I thought you'd feel better if you knew I was doing some normal stuff.
Got a new job, the bank didn't work out. I think they found out about the camping, but they say it's just the economy. This place is okay, I'm doing some e-commerce, some networking, a little creative work. I don't really like the boss, but the pay's good, and the boss knows why I need some time away and doesn't have a problem letting me go.
I'm attaching a few pics of Chicago. It's not home, but I think I'll be sticking around for a while. Miss you both. I'll try to get out to visit for the holidays.
