Ooh- sorry to hear about your dental issues. I for one HATE the dentist, and just reading your post made me shiver with fear. I hope you feel better soon! Xo
It's not getting cleanings/check ups that do me in; it's getting cavities filled.
The little drill isn't so bad, but the larger drill vibrates your whole jaw and head because your sinus cavities are set up as resonators. Since my cavity was so large, he kept using that large drill for several minutes solid. Combine that with the fact that it's a small tooth to begin with, and I had the added panic of worrying whether or not he'd drill deep enough to snap it or hit the root.
I told him rather matter of frankly that, for the next cavity, I would going to need a horse sized tranquilizer. LOL!
I truly hope the pain was much better than you had imagined it would be. Also, I am very sorry that the whole of the experience was so traumatic for you. Hopefully you never have another cavity...ever.
The pain wasn't too bad. There was some swelling, but it wasn't too bad. I guess the powers that be decided I had had enough during the actual drilling.

Take the medication and follow it up with ice packs to the face!! Plus lots of tv and rest!
