I was looking through an old LJ I kept in college (no link will be provided, it's full of epic bouts of moping and unrequited love whining), and came across this. Quick updates (because my life is crazy right now)
1. The Man is officially on "I'm-not-allowed-to-open-the-Word-doc" lock down until July. It's what will be best for the story, and hopefully I can come back to it with fresh eyes, and hopefully get it ready to query in time for some submission deadlines.
2. I will spend my time until then writing short stories and starting work on Empty Houses.

On March 21st, my husband and I adopted a second cat, Clyde. He's around three years of age, a purebred Siamese, and amazing in every sense of the word. On another note...
This summer will bring: New Hanson album (June 8th) and a tour starting in late July. Girlfriends and I are already plotting. It's been three years since the last album and if this first single is any indication of what the rest will be like, I'm effing excited beyond belief. YAYZ!!

I'm not ready.
It's time. I need to put The Man away for awhile. I was pondering submitting it for a late April deadline, but it's not ready. And to be honest, I'm not ready yet, either. Sooo...
I've spent the last five months of my life working on The Man. I love the plot. I love the characters. I'm happy with how it's developed and come together... except for the ending. Now, you'd think that if I'm writing the damned thing, I'd know how I want it to end. Not so much.

Preface
I printed out a copy of my novel for my mom (and I'm sure eventually my step-dad) to read. Even though writing acknowledgments usually comes when you're, you know, actually getting a book published, I decided to write one and include it with my mom's copy. Another critique round, another bunch of nerves
Tomorrow will bring another critique group meeting and will also provide me with my third set of comments on my novel. I'm nervous all over again, just as much as the first time, because I did so much editing (er, cutting) prior to this round.
