I like the photographs for both. I would say that the top one gives of more of a subdued professional yet relaxed look (almost like an ad for an upscale dance studio) #2 has a perhaps slightly "fashion as art" photography look. I like the placement of the copy, yet the bottom left corner seems to be a bit lost( it fades into the background and dosent grab your eye quite so much) The layout of #1 is a bit distracting, the "Dana Melissa" type dosent seem to be in the right place. Maybe bottom left?

At first I was going to say the second one, no questions asked... but then I realized that the photo itself distracts from the writing.
