do not make coffee without the lid on the coffee pot. it is NOT a good idea. i thought i could get away with it this morning....well, i thought wrong! coffee grounds and hot water were everywhere. youd think i would know better, having worked at starfucks for 3 years. oh no, leave it to me to be a dumbass

eep! maybe since you did that you arnt the best person to ask but i'll ask anyhow :p

i have a cheep little espresso maker and i was wondering how to make it so the grounds don't leak though. i got the coffee we have from the bucks and they ground it for us.. :( but there is always a bit of sludge at the bottem of the cut :(

just get it ground for NOT espresso. get a coarser grind. ask to have it ground on like 6, 7 or 8, instead of 3 (which i believe is espresso). when they ask you what kind of coffee maker you have, tell them you have a drip coffee maker, NOT an espresso machine. or just say "id like it ground on 7". if the grind is finer, the grounds will seep through and eff up the cup. that should help, but sometimes there will be a bit of grounds in the cup anyhow. there should definitely be less if you do this though.

thats what i thought but i wasnt sure if grinding it like that would allow the coffee to be as strong ya know.

yeah it'll still be strong. if you get a mild coffee (it says on the labels mild, bold, extra bold, whatever), it has more caffeine but is not as strong on taste. the extra bold coffees are stronger, taste wise, but with not as much caffeine.
