AirSet? Or other platform

Apr 26, 2010 17:26

I have to find a way for a group of about 35 people to share materials and have multiple discussion forums.  I've been using AirSets calendar for current events and generally find it useful.  Has anyone used them for cloud like computing?www.airset.com/AirSet.jsp#app.Home or have another very user friendly option?

A week ago I would have said Ning, but they're discontinuing their free platform. I don't know what their pay rates are -- depending on your situation, it may still be worth it.

Unfortunately it has to be free. The chiefs won't pay for something like this.

I haven't used it, but Ning competitor Yuku seems to offer similar functionality for free. Depending on how long you need it for, btw, it might be worth investigating Ning, since they are giving networks a 10-week grace period after they announce new pricing structures on May 4, to decide if they want to stick around. Since base-line fees were around $8/mo before their announcement, it could still be affordable out-of-pocket.

Anyway, if you google Ning competitor, you might find some other sites like Yuku. Good luck!

My housemates use Dropbox to collaborate with their bandmates on set lists and music and stuff. Valerie just showed it to me last week, so I didn't know it yet when you first posted this. It seemed like a really nice, easy to use way to share a bunch of files among a group.
