What do you think about Sylar's feelings and remorse towards Elle?

Now, I think that we all agree that Sylar had strong feelings for Elle and regreted her death, but what are your thoughts on the exact strength of those feelings as well as how long his regret lasted? I have some doubts because of four things: 1. the length of time they were actually in physcial contact  2. how desperate Sylar was to please the man ( Read more... )

I would say Sylar regretted killing her right after he did it, but I do not think he lingered on it long nor do I think the feelings ran deep. He may have momentarily thought they did because he was wrapped up in the moment of moving on and being a better person as well as trying to impress Arthur. I think he was having fun with her, but eventually those feelings would fade because I don’t think Sylar or Gabriel could stand to be with someone like Elle long term (he’s too much of a perfectionist and mature to handle her, just look at the car rental scene, he was not amused). Also, I think Elle was just going along for the ride, she didn’t have anything else to do and she’s smart and could tell Arthurs in charge and wanted to impress him and get on his good side, she is a company girl after all. I don’t feel she wanted to go with Sylar because she had feelings (even if some developed along the couple day car ride and Sylar bbq at Pinehurst). I hold on to hope that Elle was acting a bit like her old self and was playing a game ( ... )

I'm not going to give a big reply, but I think that Sylar and Elle could have worked if Sylar had wanted to STAY Sylar. He didn't. Every time an opportunity to give up the killing presented itself, he tried to stop. Even right before Kirby Plaza, he saw the explosion painted on Mendez' floor. He didn't WANT to do that, he didn't even understand how he COULD do that much evil. He went to his mother and did everything but outright beg her to say that he didn't have to be 'more'. But she wanted him to be more, she always had. Just like every other woman throughout his entire life. He did want more for himself, but he didn't want to be Sylar. (proven by multiple breakdowns throughout the series, my favorite being the scene in "I AM SYLAR" where he has a very Norman Bates moment ( ... )

I think he was infatuated with her, had a big crush on her, was really taken with her and kind of blown away by the sex thing ... but ultimately felt betrayed by her and realized it wasn't working out and wasn't *going* to work out. So he killed her because he was frustrated, angry, and vengeful. She wanted him to be evil? Sure, he was evil. And he killed her.

Then he may have had second thoughts about it, but she was dead and he was fucked. Thus begins another dark, downward spiral in Sylar's life - a second one that she started, if we're to take the flashbacks as canon.

I think his remorse faded fast and he didn't feel any regret about it until he started/starts to regret his other killings.

I like to think that when he starts to regain some empathy and makes another attempt at being a good person, at the end of season 4, that he has a lot of conflicting feelings about her ... but she's still dead and gone.

Hi. First, let me say that I’m flattered that you have a crush on me and would like to get together, but I also know that emails like this and the link you provided are often fronts for scams or computer virus. If you give me some more information about you and how you know me, and if I can verify that you are telling the truth, I’d be willing to meet up with you.
