Start of Summer update
It's 7 a.m. on a Saturday and I should be asleep, but I am not SO I'm going to do a little bullet-point update for summer.
*May 22nd was my last day at Goodwill after three mostly thankless years there. It's been a really long time since I have been without a job, so this is a new experience. And the reason I left other than they were fucking ridiculous was...
*Heading back to school this Fall. I've attended some college, but it didn't go the way I would have liked and I left. I'll be finishing my two year at a junior college and then who knows? Something tells me it's not going to be like the wacky meta-misadventures of Jeff Winger and co of Greendale (Got caught up with Community and holy shit, best finale of last year).
*My BBC America and general love (*cough* obsession) with entertainment from across the pond has now resulted in two very different new pop culture loves: Top Gear and Doctor Who. Top Gear has become my go-to show for a laugh, and I'm mid-way through series 2 of the new Who. I enjoyed Eccleston, but I must say I 'm more of a Tennant fan for sure. Interested to see how I respond to new companions and of course the new-new Doctor, Matt Smith.
*As was referenced in the last update, not going to San Diego Comic Con this year after two years of attendance. Slightly bummed about it, but then I remember the Twilight people will swarm it and I don't feel as bad. Sadly, also not going to England this year either. Which really fucking sucks and there isn't much more to say about that.
*Cannot wait for the return of True Blood, it's hopefully going to also represent the start of something new as well here in that a friend and I are talking about starting up a blog and/or podcast together. More on that to come. Also greatly looking forward to the return of my current favorite drama, Breaking Bad.
*My icon is from the amazing HBO series, Game of Thrones that I'm now officially absurdly addicted to. Watched all of s1 last Sunday and I cannot wait to see what happens next with this group of characters. Winter is coming, after all.
*The only thing I'm doing this summer in terms of an event would be getting to see my current favorite comedian, Daniel Tosh on his Tosh on Ice tour. So stoked for that, I've been a huge fan of his since way before he did Tosh.0.
*Deeply entrenched in trying to work out my Klaine Big Bang after finally getting a concept that I like. It's going to be a challenge to pull this concept off with the depth of emotion I believe it deserves, but I think it can be done.
*Favorite movie of the summer so far is X-men: First Class, it's just got it all. I'd love to attempt some Erik/Charles fic at a future point in time. Also looking forward to seeing: Green Lantern, Capt. America, Cowboys and Aliens, Attack the Block (if it comes here or nearby), And, obviously, Harry Potter which I'll be line-sitting in probably all day in my Horcrux Collector's Club shirt with however many Harry Potter fans are in this town for the midnight showing.
