I am so jealous! I don't have any outside semi-private space, so I can't do this sort of stuff even though I really want to.

I'm pretty crazy to be doing this on my fire escape. Part of me wants to convert a space in front of one of my west facing bay windows to indoor garden, but my living space would diminish greatly...plus it'd be a lot of effort when I hope to move soon anyway.

The only suggestion I could make is to look in your area for community garden spaces you could rent and garden in. I keep meaning to put my name on a list locally but forgetting...plus the tenuous moving plans now make me say, "not worth it." for now.
