So today I went to Changdeokgung Palace with my friend Eli.  It was absolutely gorgeous--I highly recommend it, particularly on Thursdays, when admission is higher but you're free to walk around as you please, even in the Secret Garden which normally requires an advance tour reservation.  The Secret Garden is not to be missed--it's such a different ( Read more... )

Pretty mirror! In America your thank you would've probably been cheap plastic crap, a Starbucks coupon, or energy water.

Actually, fortune cookies are originally Japanese, or at least that's the current theory. They weren't really mass produced until Chinese Americans got hold of them, though.

It's okay, it wasn't totally unexpected. I often catch cold after trans-Pacific flights, for whatever reason. This time I might have caught it before the flight, because Gabe was sick with a cold when I went to visit.

Yeah, I think it's good that I'm posting, too...we'll see how long it lasts.
