Snag in the Internship Process: my passport, which I have used forever for I-9 documentation, expires on the 30th - and my start date was originally set for the 31st. So that's being put on pause while I scramble to renew/replace/reissue some combination of birth certificate, SSN card, and/or passport.

D'oh. :(

Can you request to do paperwork early?

Expired passport can work for a Column B, but with a DL that seems unnecessary.

I did request to come in tomorrow, actually, so my passport would still be valid, but they opted to reschedule instead.

And yes, I have a DL now...and I thought I saw a note about "all documents must be valid and unexpired" somewhere on the form.

In any event, it'll only be a couple of weeks' delay. My birth certificate is already ordered, and I can go to the SS office to order that tomorrow.

I'm just annoyed with myself. Every once in a while, I'd pull out the darn thing and check its date, and then put it back - this time, I was like, "Oh, of course it's still valid..." and then when I checked it "just to be safe," found out it was almost expired :/
